Strada Armeneasca Pop-up: All that jazz

capsule event branding & identiy for street festival

Some briefs start with a strategy. This one started with a feeling: the specific warmth of looking into a lit window from the street and knowing there is life inside.

Strada Armenească Pop-Up was a two-day festival on Armenian Street in Bucharest, and the challenge was to design an identity that could carry the full emotional weight of a community welcoming people back to its doorstep. From key visual to tote bags, postcards, stickers, packaging, and every piece of digital and social content, the visual system had to feel cohesive, human, and alive.

The concept was built around five windows, each one a carefully chosen opening into a different layer of Armenian identity in Bucharest. The window of the Diocese anchors the composition in spiritual heritage. The Armenian Cultural Center speaks to cultural continuity. A third window belongs to no Armenian institution at all, included deliberately to honor the shared history between the community and its Romanian neighbors. The fourth is based on a window I encountered in Gyumri, Armenia, a city that stayed with me, filled with traditional objects that ground the visual in ancestral memory. The fifth is entirely invented: a window designed to hold the future, the new faces, stories, and connections still to come.

The illustration style is warm and precise without tipping into nostalgia. Each window is its own small world.

The result was a visual system where every element earned its place. Five windows, five stories, one identity that felt like it had always belonged there.
