BUNNYSHELL LOGO PROPOSAL

Bunnyshell is a second-generation cloud management solution that made a call for designers to propose logo ideas for their rebranding.

The brief asked for a logo that sticks to their original colour combination, orange & blue, or come up with a fresh colour palette.

The brief asked for a logo in their old colour palette (a slightly underwhelming orange & navy blue) or a new one, proposed by the designer. Style wise, they asked for a logo that’s modern, more serious than playful, simple, abstract and geometric.

With over 1000 proposals in the game, the chances of winning the contest were pretty low, to be honest, but it was worth the exercise of delivering a logo over the weekend.

Personally I don’t always choose to take part in online contests like this, because such contests are actually platforms of ideas for companies, for free. I mention the word “free”, because building up a brand is more than a logo on the web, it’s a process that the designer goes through with the client, properly understanding the product it will represent. And for the designer, the process starts off with hours of research, sketches, digitalizing, mock-ups and drafts over drafts, while risking to see how a project that didn’t meet the brief wins.
